I replaced the brake light switch and it didn't fix the problem. After troubleshooting a bit, I saw that the 3rd brake light wasn't working. Unplugged it and problem fixed. Turns out, there was a short inside the 3rd brake light assembly. I will fix the short later in the light assembly later.. Easy fix! Yesterday I bought a full instrument cluster from a vehicle dismantler for £58.75 It looks quite simple to fit, remove the plastic steering column covers, undo the two lower and two upper screws that hold the cluster in and pull out. The headlights and the daytime running lights are probably the same issue, the daytime lights switch off with the headlights on so if you can’t switch the headlights off then the daytime running lights won’t come on. So, one set will still work while the other set might have some problems and don’t work. Tail lights could turn off for several reasons and they are almost similar to the causes why brake lights not working but tail lights are. The causes of dysfunctional rear lights are: Burnt bulbs. I think you have an electrical problem if two functions doesn't works. I dont have the schematic for the Evo, but you should check fuse F19 in the electrical box near the battery. It's a 7.5A. Double check visually and with and electrical tester (or try to light a small 5W bulb with fuse in series). The short term 'learnt memory' should clear..relying on the original factory presets within the cars 'BRAIN' To then do the work.
